Salvation

What is salvation? This is the most important information we could ever share with you. It was shared with us in the past and without accepting it as truth and basing our entire lives around and upon it, our life would be hopeless. It has changed us forever.

We were all created to need and know God personally. However, before a relationship with God is possible we need to know and “believe the one He sent” John 6:29. Many people associate “religion” with something or someone that wants to take from you but the God that created you wants to do the opposite! It has nothing to do with religion. He has something He wants to give you. And the best news is that because God loves you so much, the gift is free. In fact, the gift has already been given. He's just waiting for you to accept it. Not only is the gift free, it is also 100% needed and necessary for all people everywhere. This is why:

Sin separates us from God. The relationship we were created to have with him is broken.

"But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear." Isaiah 59:2

Everyone has sinned

“Who can say, "I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin"?” Proverbs 20:9

“There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins.”
Ecclesiastes 7:20

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23

The penalty or punishment for sin is death.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

"Death" in the above passage is talking about what is called “the second death” which is described in this passage:

“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:14-15

How can we heal our broken relationship with God, make sure our names are written in “the book of life”, and that we don't wind up paying the "wages" of our sin? Maybe you think for whatever reason that you are a good person and have nothing to worry about. I'm sure you're a nice person, or at least a decent human being, but it actually doesn't matter. Charity work, going to church, prayer, being baptized, volunteering, treating others as you want to be treated or even general belief in God will not make you good enough because nobody is. God calls all the attempts we make at being good enough “filthy rags”.

"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." Isaiah 64:6

So according to the bible, the answer is nothing. We can do nothing to earn God's favor or get ourselves into Heaven. Many people picture coming to the end of their days and all their good deeds along with all their bad deeds being measured on a scale. So as long as the good outweighs the bad you get in, right? No. Remember what God calls the things we do to be good enough, filthy rags. What we need is to have our sin in its entirety, the thing that separates us from God in the first place, paid for and erased. This is where Jesus comes in:

Jesus is the Son of God and died to pay for our sins. ALL OF THEM! Being that it is probably the most popular verse in the bible you've probably read this 1000 times, but really read it again:

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.'' John 3:16-18

Jesus died and rose again on the third day . . .

"For I delivered unto you, first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scripture; And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"
1 Corinthians 15:3-4

"...He is risen..." Matthew 28:6

"Him God raised up..." Acts 10:40

"...God raised Him from the dead." Acts 13:30

and ascended into Heaven.

"...while they beheld, He was taken up..." Acts 1:9

"This Jesus hath God raised up...being by the right hand of God, exalted." Acts 2:32,33

Jesus is the only way and hope we have of being accepted by God.

"Jesus saith unto him, `I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.' ''

John 14:6

"To wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself..."
2 Corinthians 5:19

"Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

Jesus promised life after death, no condemnation or judgment for our sins, and that we will no longer be dead spiritually and on our way to hell, but alive in our Spirit.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” John 5:24

“as by the offence of one (Adam), judgment came upon all men to condemnation, even so by the righteousness of one (Jesus Christ) the free gift came upon all men unto the justification” Romans 5:18

“Even when we were dead in sins, (God) hath quickened us together with Christ, by grace ye are saved;"

Ephesians 2:5

“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.” Romans 3:24-28

We must believe.

“...Sirs, what must I do to be saved? So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31

“And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ...” 1 John 3:23

So, this is the hope we have and wanted to share with you as well.

"These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.”
I John 5:13

All these things are written so that we can know. We don’t have to be uncertain. We can trust in God and his free gift of grace 100%. If you're reading this for the first time this could be the most important moment of your life. Do you want to be saved? Do you want to receive the grace that we all desperately need? Do you want to begin the most important relationship of your life? Do you want to go to Heaven when you die? Believe.

If you believe and accept this information we would love to hear from you. We want you to know that we are available to answer questions or help you in any way that we can. This is just the beginning!

If you made it all this way and still don't believe, just ask yourself what you have to lose? The gift is free. If we're wrong, we lose nothing. If you're wrong, you lose everything. We challenge you to ask God to reveal himself to you. If you sincerely seek Him, He will.

So, what is salvation?

"that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

Romans 10:9
